Does shining a light on my skin really do anything?
LED Phototherapy uses specific wavelengths of light absorbed by cells within the skin. Different wavelengths support different biological processes associated with cellular energy, inflammation, repair and regeneration.
You don't need to decide which colour you need. That's our job.

Does Dermalux hurt?
No.
There's no cutting, needling or deliberate damage to the skin. You'll simply lie comfortably beneath the Dermalux canopy while the light gets to work.
While the technology is doing its job, you still get some time to switch off.

We'll talk about your skin, prepare it and position you comfortably beneath the canopy. Then there's nothing you need to do.

Dermalux LED Phototherapy has a high safety profile when used according to the manufacturer's treatment protocols and contraindications. It doesn't use UV light, so it won't tan or damage the skin in the way UV exposure can.
As with any professional treatment, however, LED isn't automatically suitable for everybody. Before your treatment we'll check for anything that could make Dermalux unsuitable for you, including relevant medications or medical considerations.
If you're ever unsure before booking, please ask us. We'd always rather check first and make sure the treatment is right for you.

Because Near Infrared sits just outside the part of the light spectrum our eyes can see.
Dermalux uses Near Infrared at 830nm. So although you can see the blue and red LEDs during treatment, you won't see Near Infrared in the same way — but that doesn't mean it isn't working.
It penetrates more deeply than visible red or blue light and is used to support processes associated with inflammation, repair and recovery.
So don't worry if your therapist tells you we're using Near Infrared and you can't see it. That's exactly as it should be.

There isn't one number that's right for everybody.
If you're having Dermalux as an occasional skin boost, a single treatment may be exactly what you're looking for. If we're trying to support a particular concern — such as ongoing breakouts, redness or skin rejuvenation — we may recommend a course so your skin receives regular treatments over a period of time.
We'll look at your skin, talk about what you'd like to achieve and recommend what we genuinely think is appropriate.
And we won't automatically tell you that you need the biggest course simply because it's available.

Yes — and this can be a lovely option if you'd like both.
Eve Taylor gives you the more traditional, hands-on facial experience, with professional skincare selected for your skin and plenty of time to relax. Dermalux adds targeted LED Phototherapy using wavelengths selected according to what we'd like to support.
Where suitable, you can add 10 or 20 minutes of Dermalux LED to an Eve Taylor facial.
So you don't necessarily have to choose between advanced skin technology and a relaxing facial experience. You can have both.

Not all LED devices are the same. Professional and home-use devices can differ in areas such as the wavelengths they deliver, light intensity, treatment dose, coverage and the evidence behind the device.
Dermalux is professional LED Phototherapy using specific clinically studied wavelengths — 415nm Blue, 633nm Red and 830nm Near Infrared — which can be selected according to what we're trying to support with your skin.
That doesn't mean every home LED mask is ineffective. It means we shouldn't assume that something producing red light is automatically delivering the same treatment as a professional Dermalux system.
