Gel Bottle colour is primarily about creating a long-lasting polished finish over your natural nails.

BIAB is a thicker builder gel that adds more structure and support to the natural nail before colour is applied, if you want colour at all.

If your nails are already a length and strength you're happy with, standard gel may be all you need. If they tend to bend, break or you're trying to grow your own nails while keeping them protected, BIAB may be the better option.

More product isn't automatically better — the right treatment depends on what your own nails need.

BIAB adds structure over the natural nail, which can help protect it from everyday knocks and reduce some of the flexing that can contribute to breakage.

What it doesn't do is permanently change the biological strength of the nail growing from your nail bed.

Many clients find they can grow their natural nails more successfully while wearing BIAB because the overlay gives them extra support.

You don't need long natural nails before having BIAB. Some clients choose it specifically because they'd like to support their natural nails while they grow.

If you're hoping for instant additional length rather than waiting for your own nails to grow, BIAB extensions may be the better option.

Gel colour can last up to around four weeks, but that isn't a guarantee that everybody will get exactly the same wear.

Your natural nail condition, how quickly your nails grow, work, hobbies, how much your hands are in water or chemicals, and how you care for them can all affect longevity.

We generally recommend returning around every 3–4 weeks for removal and reapplication.

The biggest risks to the natural nail often come from inappropriate removal, over-filing, picking or peeling product off rather than from simply having a professional gel service.

That's why we offer proper removal appointments and encourage you not to pick product away at home.

If we see something we're concerned about on the natural nail, we'll talk to you before proceeding.

Removal takes time and needs to be carried out carefully.

A removal-and-reapply appointment gives us enough time to safely remove the existing product, assess the nails underneath, complete the manicure preparation and then apply your new colour or BIAB.

It's additional appointment time and an important part of looking after the natural nail properly.

Nail art can be added to many Gel Bottle or BIAB appointments, but we need to know in advance.

Some designs take only a little additional time while others need considerably longer, which is why we use different nail-art tiers.

Please send us inspiration pictures before your appointment so we can advise what to book and make sure enough time is allowed.

Whether a nail can simply be repaired, needs product removed, or should be left alone depends on the type of break and the condition of the natural nail underneath.

Please don't glue down lifted gel or continue picking at it, as that can make the problem worse.

If you simply want your natural nails tidied and polished, a Beautiful Tidy Manicure is a lovely place to start.

If you want longer-lasting colour, choose Gel Bottle. If your main concern is helping your natural nails feel more supported while you grow them, look at BIAB.

If you already have gel, BIAB or extensions on your nails, please tell us when booking so we can allow enough removal or maintenance time.

If you want nail art, send us your inspiration beforehand. And if a nail is sore, damaged, inflamed or you suspect an infection, let us know before your appointment rather than covering it with product.
