Start with how much you want us to do rather than worrying about the treatment names.

If you mainly want your nails filed and coloured, the Fly-by may be enough. If you'd like cuticle care too, choose the Beautiful Tidy Pedicure.

If your feet need more attention — dry-skin care, exfoliation and massage — the Feet Retreat is the better fit. And if you want the fullest, most relaxing treatment with the extra mask and heated mitts, choose the Butterfly Deluxe Spa Pedicure.

If long-lasting gel colour is the main priority rather than foot care, the standalone Gel Bottle Pedicure is another good option.

You don't need to know pedicure terminology. Think about how much care and time you'd like.

Both include proper foot care: soak, nail shaping, cuticle tidy, hard and dry skin removal, exfoliation and a foot and leg massage.

The Deluxe Spa Pedicure goes further by adding an essential-oil-infused mask and heated mitts, giving the treatment more time and a more indulgent finish.

If your priority is comprehensive foot care with massage, Feet Retreat may be plenty. If you want the most complete treatment experience, choose Deluxe Spa.

If you have ordinary polish on, you can remove it beforehand if you wish, but it's not usually essential.

If you already have gel on your toes, please book the correct gel removal or removal-and-reapply option. Gel needs to be removed properly and that takes additional appointment time.

Booking the right service means we can care for the nail properly rather than trying to squeeze removal into an appointment that wasn't long enough.

Gel on toenails can often last several weeks because toes generally experience less day-to-day wear than fingernails.

We quote up to around four weeks, although some clients may find the colour still looks good beyond that. Nail growth, footwear, swimming, holidays and individual wear all affect longevity.

We generally recommend removal or reapplication around every 4–6 weeks rather than leaving grown-out gel on indefinitely.

Comfortable clothing is ideal, especially if you're having Feet Retreat or Deluxe Spa because we'll work around the feet and lower legs.

If you're having traditional polish, open-toed shoes are useful because ordinary polish needs time to fully harden and tight footwear can mark it.

Gel is cured during the treatment, so you don't have the same drying wait afterwards.

Dry skin, untidy cuticles, nails that need shaping or feet you've ignored all winter are completely normal things for us to see.

If you're worried about something specific, tell us. We'll let you know whether it's appropriate for a beauty pedicure or whether you need a different kind of professional care.

You never need to apologise for needing the treatment you've booked.

Our Feet Retreat and Butterfly Deluxe Spa Pedicure both include removal of hard and dry skin as part of the treatment, followed by exfoliation and moisturising care.

How much can be safely and comfortably addressed in one beauty treatment depends on your feet. Very thick, painful or persistent areas may need specialist foot-health care rather than repeated salon treatment.

We'll work within the scope of a beauty pedicure and be honest if something needs a podiatrist rather than more exfoliation.

Beauty pedicures have limits.

If a toenail is very thickened, painful, badly damaged, inflamed, infected-looking or you're concerned about the health of the nail or surrounding skin, it may be more appropriate to see a podiatrist or another qualified healthcare professional.

We won't cover something concerning with polish simply because that's what the appointment was booked for.

Because these conditions can be infectious, we may need to postpone treatment or advise you to seek appropriate pharmacy or healthcare advice first.

We won't be embarrassed or judgmental — we just need to handle it appropriately.

If you already know the treatment suits you, booking reasonably close to your holiday means the result is fresh when you travel.

If you're also planning waxing or a spray tan, it's worth thinking about the order of your appointments so everything works together comfortably.

Summer and pre-holiday slots can fill quickly, so if the date matters, it's often better to secure the appointment earlier rather than focus too much on the exact number of days beforehand.
